Bye bye fear

Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

When I am afraid, God is there. God said wherever I go He will be there.

Sometimes circumstances arise that take my breath from me and make me fear tomorrow, but then I get ahold of Jesus and he reminds me of this verse. His Word comforts me. I know that fear has no place in a life that is grounded in faith.

As a Christian we are constantly tested on our faith. Some tests are harder and more memorable. Sometimes we may even fail them. But I thank God that He is so good to us and He makes our failures work out for our benefit, when we serve Him.

I have made plenty of mistakes in my life, but I’m glad that God is full of mercy and grace that I could never earn, no matter how good or bad I may be. He bled and died for us all while we were His worst enemies. That is a picture of grace that I will never forget.

Therefore, when I go through the valley and feel like I could die, I know God is with me. Like a good shepherd he is ready to kill any wolves that try to threaten me. His presence comforts me. To know He is with me daily makes me unafraid of the unknown lurking in the darkness. He called me out of darkness and into light and he will guide me through all the valleys of life safely.
