"The Lord is my Shepherd", Psalm 23, is a much loved prayer of King David & of many Christians today.
The LORD is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the LORD's house forever.
Each individual verse in this Psalm overflows with imagery & each one so apropos for life's challenges.
Look again & slowly read each individual verse. Now contemplate:
Which verse leaps out at you?
What picture or idea comes to mind?
Invite God into that picture or moment. Sit with Him there a while.
Sketch that scene out & imagine Him there with you.
What truth is He trying to convey to you?
Write the verse out at you on your hand, even if it's midnight =)
Today, be reminded that He is truly with you in whatever circumstance you find yourself in.
