With all of the business of life, overwhelmed schedules, new happenings, constant challenges, and our every day’s, it’s easy to forget all God has already done. When we’re waiting on promises, making our requests known or in the trenches of serving, or waiting for a breakthrough, it’s easy to forget what promises He’s already fulfilled.
As I stood in our church on a Sunday morning, the worship team led us as we sang “all my life you have been faithful, all my life you have been so so good. With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God.”
Strange that such a song of His goodness would bring such conviction. Truth of the matter is - He HAS been so faithful and so good for all of my life, but my able breaths haven’t always resulted in the praise that’s due. Fear, frustration, hurt and just life have been allowed to limit what He is worthy of and what I was created for - praise of a perfect creator.
He HAS been faithful. He HAS been good. He HAS been provider, healer, joy, strength, redemption, salvation and so much more. Yet, my current need of Him and His power often supersedes the recognition of His constant faithfulness.
Maybe today you just need to take a moment to remember - to recall His goodness and give Him praise for it. To focus not on what you can ask of him, but what answers He’s already provided, what miracles He’s already done and what love you’ve known. Today, let us all
Remember His faithfulness and maybe even sing of His goodness.
“May I never forget the good things He has done for me” Psalm 103:2
