Joy to the world-WHY? The Lord is come

Writer: Kara HolmesKara Holmes

As the days to the 25th rapidly approach, anticipation builds in our hearts. It is a day that brings, for the most part, great joy. Being with family and friends, good food, expressions of generosity, and the thrill of children are just a few. But, mostly, it is a time when it seems the world has to recognize the birth of Jesus, the Son of God, come down to earth to dwell among us.

The carol of Joy to the World gives us phrases of facts, then a charge to act upon that fact. For example, Joy to the World, the Lord is come....Let earth receive her King

With the news that Jesus has come to bring joy,we have the charge and the choice to “receive our King”. What does that look like for you? How do you receive your king in your world and circumstances of every day? How would the presence of the King change the way you go about every day, change your attitude, your motives, your drive, your choices?

The list could go on, but I think you get my meaning. Let every heart prepare Him room and let heaven and nature sing. Luke 2:10-11 tells us (and the shepherds) that the birth of this baby, this savior, brings great joy.

Let us chose to “receive“ Him in our day, our plans, our goings and comings, and rejoice because God sent us JESUS.

Be blessed this day, my dear sisters!
