Life Abundantly

A verse that I hear quoted so very often is John 10:10. The part that I hear the most is "the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy..." Often people only quote the part of the verse that is referencing the enemy and his role. But that's not my favorite part. My favorite part is what comes next, where it says "but I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly!" Now that's something to get excited about!

I think part of abundant life means we should be people who celebrate! And not just the big things either. Many times we hold back celebrating the things we're excited about in life because we wait to see if others think it's a good enough reason to celebrate. How many times have we been excited about something but when we share it others don't seem to be as excited and then for some reason we allow their lack of excitement to make us feel silly for being so excited?

I want to be a person that walks in abundant life. I want to live this life to the fullest and celebrate everything from the small to the big. And I want to be able to celebrate in such a way that represents me and the life I live.

For example when it comes to birthdays I love to celebrate. I however am not a big party person. I like a few different small celebrations with my closest people so that I can thoroughly soak in and enjoy each person, moment, and experience. And preferably there's great food, coffee, conversation, and beautiful settings involved. Ooh and maybe some flowers. I don't need elaborate plans, large crowds, or even gifts. Not everyone feels this way. It would be easy to look at a friends elaborate party and think that my celebration isn't good enough because it's small. But that's comparison and that's the thief of joy.

Feel the freedom in life to celebrate. Never let someone else's response determine your level of celebration. And don't let other people's ways of celebrating dictate how you celebrate. Let's all be ladies who live life abundantly and celebrate immensely!

Ok, Miranda and all you sisters, I want you to know that I am celebrating the fixing of my shower!! It has leaked for several months after it was remodeled. No one could ever figure out what was wrong and suggested that nothing was wrong, except my floor would be damp after ever use. (Ugh). Yesterday I had another plumber come “see”. Ad he noticed right away a loose connection. It’s cured!!!!!! For the first time I took a shower this morning with a dry floor. I was doing a happy dance... Celebrate the small things in a big way!!!!
