Live in love

John 15:10

If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

My heavenly Father loves me. I am sure of this. I can feel his love all throughout my day. I call upon the name of Jesus many times each day, with knowledge that he hears me and he loves me.

I abide in his love by living in his love. I dwell in his love. I walk in his love by following his commandments. Like a home I have made a place on this vine eternally. I was grafted in and I plan to stay. Nothing can pluck me away from where I have been placed.

Not only am I assured of his love for me, but I am also assured of his love for others, too. I know that he did not just die for me, but for the whole entire world. So when I feel like getting angry and I’m tempted to sin, I am reminded of God’s love for others.

Love is greater than any other force. The reason is because God is love. Without knowing God, we cannot claim to even know what love is. Love is not a feeling. Love is a person. His name is Jesus Christ.

The love of God was placed in me by the Holy Spirit upon my salvation. There is no other way to love but through Christ. So as Jesus spoke in John that he abides in his Father’s love, we should abide in Christ’s love for others. Life is so much better when we look through lenses of love, rather than jealousy, wrath or bitterness. We must keep our focus on Christ and why he died, and daily rid ourselves of everything else.
