The fourth week of advent focuses on LOVE. It truly is the greatest gift we can receive or give.
The other day my daughter and I were in Walmart in the check out line. An elderly lady came to the counter who had already paid for her things, but held a package of cold medicine in her hand. She asked if she could “cut “in front of us, as she had checked out at that register but had forgotten to pay for the item in her hand. My daughter told her to put the item with hers and she would pay for it. The elderly lady argued for a few minutes and my stubborn daughter argued right back. Finally the lady accepted this Random Act of Kindness as a gift, and as a momma of an adult daughter I couldn’t have been prouder. I saw love in action and it was from someone whom I had instilled Godly values all her life.
I was reminded of how God, our father, must be proud of us girls when we give the gift of love to those around us. Love is so much more than a word we say. It is random acts of kindness [RAK] to those who may or may not ‘deserve’ it. It is deliberate choices we make every day as we walk out this life.
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER SHOULD BELIEVE ON HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE
As Christmas Day fast approaches, let us look for ways we can #dogreatthings with RAK to those around us. Be blessed as you focus on Jesus, the greatest gift of love the world has ever known.
