What an wonderful privilege it is to have been entrusted with The Word of God, to engage with it, to be encouraged by it , to be lead down the right path by it; therefore, why not take it a step further & declare it! Its vocabulary is so rich, giving wisdom to those who read it, constantly portraying truth and providing life-giving power. It promises not to return void. & has creative and recreative capacities according to His will. But,, often we forget the authority it brings with it & the Authority who backs it. This reality allows us to use it with full confidence companied by careful handling of it. We must be diligent to not twist its text in a way that transforms its meaning.
Some of the benefits of declaring or praying scripture are that it has a way of transforming the actual language we use in our prayer & it offers us confident words to vocalize when life's situations leave us with no utterance. Amongst other things, it empowers us to use God's actual language which, if you remember well, is POWERFUL & EFFECTIVE sharper than any two-edged sword. It reflects back to God His mind, His heart & His will. The early church prayed it, Jesus quoted it, let's use it!
