Have you ever felt like even when you have followed every law, life just doesn’t seem to care? You have done it all correctly, kept every rule... but the way your life looks just isn’t the product of goodness.
Well maybe, just maybe, God is trying to get your attention.
Don’t give up when the Lord isn’t speaking - Remeber His testimonies, keep His commandments and love Him and He will be faithful to you.
Verse 2 :
“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart!”
Have you remembered the testimonies of the Lord?
Creation in 7 days;
Noah and the flood;
Moses and the Red Sea;
Abraham and Sarah;
Joshua and Jericho;
Esther and the King;
Nehemiah and the wall;
Hosea and his wife;
Mary and Joseph;
Jesus and Herod;
Jesus and the cross;
Jesus and the resurrection;
Your salvation;
My salvation... and the list goes on and on and on and on.
The testimonies of the Lord are sure. Proven, true and faithful.
So why do we feel we need to tell Him things like this:
Verses 30-31
“ I have chosen the way of truth; your judgements I have laid before me.
I cling to your testimonies; oh Lord, do not put me to shame!”
Shame- isn’t that what we are all truly worried about. That we will bring shame to someone else, to ourselves or that we just won’t measure up and bring shame to God.
Well good news- the Lord has no desire to put shame on you...He desires this ...
Verse 32 : “I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart. “
Verse 40: Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
His desire is to enlarge your heart, and to revive you in His righteousness... He wants you to remember what He has done in the past, because His testimonies are faithful, not only faithful to others, but He is faithful to you.
So remind yourself today of the testimonies in your life that the Lord has performed. No matter how great or small they are - He will enlarge your heart and revive His righteousness in you. Don’t give up, push forward knowing He is faithful!
