Ok, I just posted a blog, but who knows what happened to it so if you somehow see two posts for today, just chalk it up to operator error. LOL. I was trying to be fancy and post a beautiful picture, and ...... technical difficulties ensues.
Oh well. Back to the text at hand 1 Thessalonians 5:10. So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind.
Being an “encourager” takes hard work and purposeful living and speaking. Some days it is easier that others to be encouraging. We can and must choose our responses wisely.
Reacting, is like a nurse striking you knee with a mallet, and your leg just kicking out. You do it as a reflex. Quick and no thought is involved.
Responding is a deliberate and conscious act to answer or behave in a manner that is God approved. This takes much hard work, discipline and prayer. Our goal is to be pleasing to God and help our sister out. Responding in this manner is one of the ways our life lived out shows our maturity in Christ. IT should be a goal of ours to help build another up.
We are called to be encouragers, lifter uppers, hope givers, joy bringers, light bearers, just to name a few. As opportunities arise today—choose wisely and be purpose driven.
