It’s Day 327 of 2018, Sisterhood!!!
In light of Thanksgiving being “over with”, it doesn’t mean the season of thanksgiving is. You should be aware that I periodically need a nudge to remind myself to keep a thankful heart beyond the month of November. While we often group the next several weeks as one big holiday season, there are still 38 days remaining to 2018- 38!! I wrote last time about being thankful for new days and the faithfulness of God. Today, I’m thankful for the days that are yet to come AND the faithfulness of God. I’m writing specifically about the 38 days left until 2019. You see when 2018 began, I made goals much like most of us do. I think it’s important to do this regularly, not just at the beginning of a new year- but a new year is a great place to start! I won’t knock “resolutions” in the least if it means we are resolving to grow personally, spiritually, physically, etc.
As the year is winding down, that list of MY to-dos is staring me in the face. I can tell you right now that I have fallen short in some of those goals and 38 days is not enough time to get them finished up. My poor little Type A personality will take a bruising, but today I’m choosing to let it be because there’s another part of that list that means much more to me: the list of what I want to see GOD do in 2018. These are the things that are so precious that they’re not only jotted on a piece of paper, but are written in my heart. Even now, I’m welling up with tears because while I haven’t seen the fruition of those heart prayers happening, the evidence is there. What evidence? The evidence of a God who has been faithful before, who is faithful now and who will be faithful to the very end and complete the work He has begun!!
My darling sisters, let your heart be encouraged today. Just because you haven’t seen it come to pass, doesn’t mean it won’t! Maybe you’ve even stopped praying, stopped believing that it could. There are 38 days left of this year. God can still turn around that situation in your life, to change the heart of a wayward spouse, to bring that prodigal child home, to fill in the blank!! Hang on.. because your list isn't limited to "hard" things. God can still meet that financial goal you made to give to missions, give you strategy for your ministry, grow your church, you name it :) It’s never too late to put hope back into that heart prayer. He is able and there’s no timetable that can hinder the Faithful One!!
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP
