It’s an absolutely gorgeous Saturday morning, Sisterhood!!
I’m writing from a 2nd floor hotel room in New Orleans and as I’m listening to the early morning sounds, I cannot help but be thankful. There’s something about the crisp autumn air flowing through your lungs that reminds you that all things have been made new. The dew on the grass-as if the earth has been washed clean from the day before and the excited chirping of the birds in the trees are all a sign of creation rejoicing at the new day ahead. Today I’m thankful for new days and for the faithfulness of God. Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us, “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh every morning.”
How incredible is this? How many days, sweet sisters, do we wake up and before we even set our feet down, have already discounted the day? How often do we [unintentionally] take the day for granted? This verse beckons me to reframe my perspective, my way of thinking about the day ahead. It can’t just stop with my mind, but has to penetrate through to my heart, and into my spirit. The faithfulness of God must be so embedded that it flows out in all I say and do.
Today, I am praying that my life reflects the posture of a woman, who knows within her soul, that the God of all creation is Faithful. I’m praying that for you, too!!
