Why I signed up for the time management post is beyond me. I am the Queen of procrastination! However, it is something that Jesus and me have been working on for several years....I am not where I want to be, yet. However, I have grown greatly. The old adage that says, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” holds true to even working on procrastination.
I do know this, if I do not start with a plan to carry out for the day, I will waste a tremendous amount of time. I’m a check box and to do list kind of girl, so I make lots of lists and love it when I can scratch something off.
The key is to put Christ first. I believe if we start our day with honoring Him, He will help us throughout our day. Matthew 6:33 says “if we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be added unto us.” I know that includes time in the day to get our tasks accomplished, and be joyful in the process. If I am not in a rush, I have time to look around me and see if there is someone who needs me. Whether is it assistance with a door, directions, a kind word or smile, I am better equipped to be a positive example if I am not stressed about my lateness.
Practice giving yourself a few extra minutes and see where the Lord directs you.
