Proverbs 17:17 says that a friend loves at all times. So, first you would have to define what love is to understand what a friend is. Love looks different to everyone. What does love look like to you? Is it kisses and hugs or smiling and laughing? Is love meant to only be felt or can it be seen? To me love is sacred and something to hold on to because it is rare; a friend. A friend sees my flaws but laughs at them with me because those flaws make me uncommon. A friend thinks I am funny not because I am funny but because we laugh together at life. A friend knows the gestures that make me smile and that sometimes silence is ok. A friend sees when I hurt and encourages me to feel then let it go. A friend speaks up when they see me heading down the wrong path, but loves me ever so gently back to where I should be -- without judgement. A friend enjoys coffee and small talk (hours often) about nothing. I am glad that I have friends that are all these things to me so I hold on to them. February is the "love month" -- love your friends by being one yourself.
