Would you lay your new born in a manger?
Im not sure I could stomach that! I'd frantically clean it first! I’d inspect the hay thoroughly because Im positive it would have one or two snakes and roaches in it. I’d even look for tiny termites in the wood.
As I look at the story we so often read this time of the year, it seems to me that the manger ‘could' possibly symbolize the place where we place Jesus….in our hearts <3
Yikes!
If that is so, then I personally need to do some deep cleaning…and fast !
Therefore, as Christmas morning approaches, I’m challenged to search below the surface to see what critters are taking up unwanted space in my heart and earnestly cry out to Jesus
Ps 139: 23 & 24
Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
