You aren’t Doing it all Alone

When you feel like you are doing it all

Psalm 61

1 ¶ To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.

Hear my cry, O God;

Attend to my prayer.

2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You,

When my heart is overwhelmed;

Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For You have been a shelter for me,

A strong tower from the enemy.

4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;

I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

5 For You, O God, have heard my vows;

You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.

6 You will prolong the king's life,

His years as many generations.

7 He shall abide before God forever.

Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!

8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever,

That I may daily perform my vows.

 Some days, My heart feels completely overwhlmed. My life is a whirlwind and I am like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz being sucked into a tornado and dropped in a land of uncertainty.

My heart becomes overwhelmed....

Have you ever felt that way?

Well my sweet sister, this scripture expresses how you should approach what is happening in your heart.

Cry out to the Lord- God will hear your prayer! He will take care of your need. Don’t get flooded with all of the things you haven’t completed or that no one has helped you. Focus on who you are and what God has helped you to accomplish.. He has helped you.

Just as Dorothy from Kansas begins to walk down that strange yellow brick road, she is scared. Along the way she meets many needy friends, adding more to her plate. Some were fearful, no heart and others tried to destroy her along the way.

Her heart was overwhelmed by lack of understanding, lack of information, lack of help.

Don’t we feel a little like Dorothy sometimes? Along the way of this beautiful faith walk, we get discouraged, gain people that take instead of give, complain and are grumpy, instead of kind and edifying, people that don't have time to help us. Sometimes our heart becomes overwhelmed. We have a vision and we want to execute what God has called us to do, but the weight of the world seems to sit on our shoulders.

Well here is good news! There is a Rock that is higher than you! His name is Jesus! Abide in Him, make Him your shelter. Look to Him. He can see all the treacherous things around us, able to direct us. Just like the Great Oz, He is declaring goodness and help over you in the middle of the storm. He is showing you the way. He is sending the true Helper, He is speaking to you in visions and in dreams, He is present.. completely present. He is there waiting to tell you how to get to your destination... You will make it, because He will be with you every step of the way. When you realize He is doing everything with you, He will began to make a cry over your heart and your heart will have to line up with the Word of God.

The amount of Gods faithfulness in your weaknesses cannot be calculated- it is overflowing. Trust the Lord - guard your heart from untruthful feelings, they will only harden you to the Gospel of peace. You may feel like you are doing everything on your own, but that is the catch.. it is a feeling and feelings are not facts . The truth is, He will NEVER leave or FORSAKE you. You are never alone. Peace He has given you. Trust Him so that you can perform your daily tasks. With help or without, keep a healed heart and don’t allow your heart to be bombarded and breached. The Lord is a shelter and strong tower for you.

Dorothy finally made it home to Kansas... you can make it through and you are never alone. Ask God to help you with trusting Him.

So shake off the shackles “that you do everything!” You cannot do everything, but you can do one thing well... be a great daughter and the Lord will help you accomplish all that you need to do, sending mighty men and women of God to back and help progress your vision. Do the one thing well- just be a daughter - ABIDE, the Helper is here you are never alone .
